Choosing a BeefEater
Decide first whether you want a permanent outdoor kitchen (a built-in head) or a BBQ you can move (a trolley model). Then choose the burner count for the number of people you cook for, and the finish: enamel is hard-wearing and easy to wipe; stainless keeps a bright look; 304 grade stainless on the 7000 and Proline suits a premium outdoor kitchen.
Care
Burn off residue after cooking, brush the cast iron while warm, empty the drip tray regularly and fit the cover once cool. Before winter, clean thoroughly and keep the cover on; our guide to clearing mould from a BBQ helps in spring.
Gas and installation
The BeefEater BBQs listed run on propane. Use the specified regulator and use outdoors in a well-ventilated area only. Built-in heads go into a non-combustible structure to BeefEater's installation dimensions, with heat shields and ventilation as specified. Our built-in BBQ installation guide explains the build.
