For the modern British garden, a gas BBQ with a trolley offers the perfect balance of professional cooking power and everyday convenience. Unlike fixed masonry or built-in units, these freestanding grills are designed to move with the sun—or away from the wind. With instant ignition and precise multi-burner control, you can transition from "closed for winter" to "ready to grill" in under ten minutes.
At Glowing Flames, our trolley-mounted collection focuses on durability and smart design. Whether you are looking for a compact grill for a small patio or a high-capacity "outdoor range" for large garden parties, these units provide a self-contained cooking station that fits your lifestyle.
Compact 2-Burner Models
Ideal for couples or small families with limited outdoor space. These models offer a slim profile and often feature folding side shelves to minimise their footprint when not in use.
Family-Sized 3 & 4-Burner Grills
The "sweet spot" for British entertaining. These units provide enough grill surface to cook for 6–10 people comfortably, often including a side burner for boiling corn-on-the-cob or preparing sauces.
Premium 6-Burner Outdoor Stations
For those who take outdoor catering seriously. These large-format trolleys often include integrated rotisseries, infrared sear stations, and extensive storage cabinets for a professional-grade experience.
Weather Protection
While our BBQs are constructed from high-grade stainless steel and porcelain-enamelled components, the British rain can still take its toll. We always recommend using a tailored weatherproof cover to protect the ignition system and burners from moisture and debris.
Gas Safety
Most trolley BBQs in the UK use Propane (Green/Red Patio Gas). Always ensure your regulator is securely attached and perform a simple "bubble test" on the hoses at the start of the season to check for any perished rubber or leaks.
Stability
Always operate your BBQ on a flat, level surface. Once you have moved the trolley into position, ensure the locking casters are engaged to prevent the unit from moving while the burners are lit.
Do I have to keep the gas bottle inside the trolley?
Most modern trolleys are designed with a specific "cradle" or shelf to hold the gas bottle securely. Keeping the bottle inside the cabinet not only looks neater but also protects the regulator and hose from direct sunlight and accidental knocks.
How do I get that "charcoal flavour" on a gas grill?
The flavour in a BBQ comes from fats and juices dripping onto a hot surface and vaporising back into the meat. Our gas BBQs use Vaporiser Bars (or Flame Tamers) above the burners to replicate this exact process, giving you that authentic charred flavour without the mess of ash.
Is assembly difficult?
Our trolley BBQs are delivered "partially assembled." You will typically need to build the trolley frame and attach the side shelves. With basic tools, most models can be ready for their first grill in about 60 to 90 minutes.
Can I leave my gas BBQ outside all year?
Yes, provided it is covered. However, many owners choose to take advantage of the trolley's wheels and move the unit into a dry shed or garage during the peak of winter to extend the life of the electronic ignition components.
How do I clean the grill after a party?
The most efficient way is "Burn-Off" cleaning. Once you've finished cooking, turn all burners to high for 10 minutes to carbonise any food residue. Once cooled, a simple sweep with a wire BBQ brush is all that's needed to keep the grates in top condition.
