Flue Design and Installation

Installation

Installation should always be done by a qualified person. In England and Wales, an installer registered with a competent person scheme such as HETAS can self-certify that the work meets Building Regulations, and you will get a certificate of compliance, so always ask your installer for proof of registration.

If you install a stove yourself, or use an installer who is not registered with a competent person scheme such as HETAS, you must apply to your local authority Building Control before the work starts, and have it signed off before you use the stove. In Scotland and Northern Ireland, contact your council's building standards or building control team before any work starts.

We sell stove pipe, elbows and installer packs, and we always recommend speaking with an installer before you buy. They will come to your property and take precise measurements. Online design tools are good to give an indication but are no substitute for a precise survey. Once your installer has confirmed what you need, email us at info@glowingflames.co.uk with their list and we will tell you which parts we can supply.
