A builder or fireplace fitter fits the surround and hearth. The fire you put in it sets the rest:

About this product

Will it suit your space?

The kit measures 960 mm high, 1220 mm wide and 550 mm deep, so allow wall space at least 1220 mm wide and floor space 550 mm deep. It is compatible with electric stoves and OKO bioethanol stoves only. The weight of each option is in the sizes table below.

If you are buying the kit on its own, the size of the opening inside the chamber is not listed, so check your stove against the instruction manual or ask us before you order. With an electric stove you will also need a socket nearby where the plug stays accessible.

The OKO bioethanol stove options need a minimum room volume of 63 cubic metres (length x width x ceiling height), and the room needs ventilation of at least 0.5 air changes an hour, which trickle vents, door gaps or briefly opening a window usually provide. As a rough heating guide, 1kW warms about 14 cubic metres, but the stove is tested as a decorative appliance, so a proper heat-loss check gives the right figure if you need it to heat the room.

Installation and safety

Assemble the chamber and fit it following the instruction manual. Use it only with an electric stove or an OKO bioethanol stove, never a wood burning, multi-fuel or gas stove. With an electric stove, never plug it in behind the chamber or the stove: the plug must stay accessible after installation so the stove can be isolated in an emergency.

With an OKO bioethanol stove, follow that stove's instructions on room size, ventilation and clearances. Use only liquid bioethanol of 96% purity or higher, never gel fuel. Fill the burner no higher than its maximum level, wipe up any spill and let the area dry fully before lighting, and keep the room ventilated.

Is a stove included?

Only if you choose a stove option. The kit-only option is the chamber, hearth and slip set with integrated LED downlights; add an electric stove or an OKO bioethanol stove to complete it. The stove options include an OKO S1 or OKO S3 bioethanol stove.

Which stoves can I use with it?

Electric stoves and OKO bioethanol stoves only. Check the size of your stove against the chamber opening in the instruction manual.

Is it suitable for an existing chimney?

It is listed as suitable for both existing and new chimney installations. It is still for electric and OKO bioethanol stoves only, not for wood burning, multi-fuel or gas stoves.

Does it have lights?

Yes. LED downlights are built into the chamber.

Does it arrive assembled?

No. It is not supplied fully assembled; follow the instruction manual.

What fuel does the OKO stove use?

Only liquid bioethanol with a purity of 96% or higher. It is not suitable for gel fuel.

Does the OKO stove need a chimney or flue?

No. It is a flueless decorative appliance, but the room must meet the minimum volume and ventilation given for the appliance.

Can the stove stand on carpet?

No. Bioethanol stoves must stand on a level, hard and stable surface.

Does the knob on the OKO stove do anything?

No. The knob is decorative and does not control the stove.
