A pre-built, paint-ready media wall with a stove alcove, solid oak beam and LED downlights, for a stove look under a wall-mounted TV. Every option uses the same wall, 2250mm high, 1160mm wide and 433mm deep. You choose the stove that comes with it: an Adam Aviemore (black, white or grey), Adam Bergen, Adam Hudson or Sureflame Keston electric stove, or a charcoal grey OKO S1 bioethanol stove that burns a real flame.

Key features

  • Five pre-built, unfinished 18mm MDF parts with pre-edged, bevelled joints, ready to paint.
  • Solid oak beam, supplied unfinished, plus LED downlights.
  • Rated for a wall-mounted TV and bracket up to 35kg.
  • Electric stove options come with a stove pipe and give LED flames over a realistic log effect fuel bed, with 0.9kW and 1.8kW heat, manual controls and a thermostat; the flames can run without heat.
  • The OKO S1 bioethanol option burns a real flame from a 1.5 litre stainless steel burner, giving up to 3kW and 3 to 8 hours of burn time depending on the opening setting, with a tempered safety glass door. It is tested to BS EN 16647:2015 for decorative liquid-fuel fireplaces.

About this product

Will it suit your space?

At 2250mm high, 1160mm wide and 433mm deep, the wall fits a fairly narrow flat wall. With an electric stove, the rough guide of 1kW per 14 cubic metres puts the 1.8kW setting at a room of about 25 cubic metres; a proper heat-loss check gives the right figure for your room. Plan a socket position that stays reachable, as the plug must not sit behind the wall or stove. With the OKO S1 bioethanol stove, the manufacturer states a minimum room volume of 63 cubic metres, so work from that as the minimum, and the room needs air to refresh at least 0.5 times an hour, for example through trickle vents or a window opened from time to time. Check the specifications for the stove you choose.

Installation and safety

Build it as set out in the instruction manual and fix it securely to a sound wall. Have any hardwiring or new sockets done by a qualified electrician.

With the OKO S1 bioethanol stove, use only liquid bioethanol of 96% purity or higher, never gel fuel. Fill the burner no higher than its maximum level, wipe up any spill and let the area dry fully before lighting, and keep the room ventilated.

Questions

Does it come assembled?

No. It comes as five pre-built parts that you assemble using the manual provided.

How heavy a TV can the wall take?

It is rated for wall-mounted TVs and brackets up to 35kg.

Does the stove door open?

On the Adam Aviemore, Adam Bergen and Sureflame Keston electric stoves, no: the door is for effect only. The OKO S1 bioethanol stove has a tempered safety glass door that opens for access to the burner.

Can I run the flames without heat?

On the electric stoves, yes. The first setting on the stove is flame effect only.

Where does the plug go?

On the electric stoves, the plug comes from the back of the stove in the middle. It must not be plugged in behind the surround or stove, as it has to stay accessible. The OKO S1 bioethanol stove needs no electrical supply.

Does the bioethanol stove need a chimney or flue?

No. The OKO S1 is a flueless decorative appliance, but the room must be at least 63 cubic metres and properly ventilated.

What fuel does the bioethanol stove use?

Only liquid bioethanol with a purity of 96% or higher. Gel fuel is not suitable.

How long does a fill of the bioethanol stove last?

The 1.5 litre burner gives roughly 3 to 8 hours, depending on how far the opening is set.

How much ventilation does the room need for the bioethanol stove?

The air should refresh at least 0.5 times per hour. Trickle vents, door gaps or opening a window from time to time usually achieve this.

How do I put the bioethanol flame out?

Fully close the closing plate and the flame goes out. Do not blow on it or use water.
