Installation and safety

This is a solid fuel fireplace, so it must be fitted to a working chimney and a non-combustible hearth by a HETAS-registered installer (Carron requires fitting by, or under the supervision of, a HETAS-qualified engineer), with a carbon monoxide alarm in the room.

If you fit Carron's matching gas fire instead, it must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer.

Questions

Can the Verona burn solid fuel and gas?

It is supplied for solid fuel. Carron also makes a matching gas fire for it (code NUF071, 6.0kW heat input), which needs a Class 1 or Class 2 flue. We do not sell the gas fire.

Does it need a chimney?

Yes. It must be fitted to a working chimney or flue and a non-combustible hearth, by a HETAS-registered installer, as Carron requires.

Are tiles included?

No. Carron sells glazed tiles for the sides separately.
