The Opus Harmony D is the classic version of Opus's 7kW Harmony wood burning stove, with a bottom door below the fire chamber rather than an open log store. It runs at 80% efficiency and is Ecodesign ready.

About this product

Will it suit your space?

As a rule of thumb, an average room needs roughly 1kW for every 14 cubic metres, so its 7kW suits about 98 cubic metres (around 41 square metres with a 2.4m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by your installer gives the right answer.

The Harmony D is 1089mm high, 598mm wide and 437mm deep and weighs 123kg. It needs 420mm clearance to combustibles at the sides and 180mm at the rear.

Installation and safety

It must be installed by a HETAS-registered installer or signed off by Building Control, and a carbon monoxide alarm is required in the room. Follow the clearances and hearth details in the Opus installation manual.

Questions

Can it burn coal or smokeless fuel?

No. Opus and Firepower list the Harmony as a wood burning stove, and the manual rates it on wood only.

Can I use it in a smoke control area?

No. The Harmony is listed as not DEFRA exempt, and there is no SE version on the current Firepower price list.

What does the D mean?

D is Opus's code for the bottom door version. The Harmony LS has an open log store instead, and the PR sits on a rotating pedestal.

Delivery

Free delivery to England and Wales. Standard items usually arrive in 3 to 7 working days; large and heavy items in 3 to 10 working days, delivered to the kerbside and often on a pallet. The courier normally contacts you to book a day. Scotland and Northern Ireland charges are shown at checkout.

Returns

You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, with no restocking fees. Returns after day 14 must be unused, uninstalled and in the original packaging. If we collect, it costs £90 for a single pallet item or £150 for two-person and multi-pallet deliveries; garden buildings, and collections from Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands, are priced before booking and never cost more than £250. Items made to your specification are excluded, and faulty or damaged goods are collected free.

Return and refund policy

Warranty

The manufacturer's warranty terms apply, which can include registering the product, professional installation and annual servicing. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act are not affected.

Installation and safety

In England and Wales, installing a solid fuel appliance is notifiable building work: use a HETAS registered installer, or apply to Building Control before the work starts. Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own building standards.
Building Regulations require a carbon monoxide alarm in the room when a solid fuel appliance is installed.
In a smoke control area you can only burn wood in an exempt appliance; otherwise you must use an authorised smokeless fuel. Check before you buy.
