Will it suit your space?
As a rough guide, allow 1kW of heat for every 14 cubic metres of room volume in an average room, so 2kW suits a room of around 28 cubic metres (about 3.4 x 3.4 m with a 2.4 m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by a heating engineer gives the right answer.
Choose the size and shape to suit your media wall: the landscape sizes are wide and low, the Portrait is tall and narrow for a narrow media wall or alcove, and the SQ sizes are squarer. A panoramic fire suits a media wall or chimney breast that stands proud of the wall so the side glass is visible. Check the sizes table below for the height, width and depth of each option. Every option needs additional fitting, so plan the stud wall or chimney breast to the instruction manual supplied with the fire, with an accessible socket within reach of the 1.6 m cable.

Installation and safety
No chimney or flue is needed; the fire runs from the mains via a 1.6 m cable. Additional fitting is required: build the media wall opening to the instruction manual supplied with the fire, which gives the clearances and any recess or wall requirements. Plug it into a socket that stays accessible, not one behind the fire or the media wall. If the fire is hardwired or built into a wall, have the electrical work done by a qualified electrician.
Questions
What sizes are available?
Landscape sizes Aspire 50, 75, 100, 125, 150 and 200 (555 mm to 2054 mm wide), the Aspire 50 Portrait (554 mm wide and 938 mm high) and the Aspire 50 SQ and Aspire 70 SQ. Not every size comes in every installation; the sizes table gives the dimensions of each option.
Does it need a chimney or flue?
No. It is an electric fire built into a media wall or false chimney breast and powered from the mains.
How much heat does it give?
Two heat settings, 1kW and 2kW, with a thermostat, set from the remote, which also has a 7-day timer.
Where is the glass?
The corner view versions have glass on the front plus one side, so the flames can be seen from the front and one end. The panoramic versions have glass on the front plus two sides. The fully inset versions are glass fronted.
Can it go on either side of a corner?
The Aspire 150 Corner View is supplied with a metal side plate so it can be installed as a corner view fire on either side. For other corner view sizes, check the instruction manual.
Can I dim the flames?
Adjustable flame brightness is listed for the corner view versions, the Aspire 50 to 150 panoramic versions, the Aspire 50 Portrait and the fully inset Aspire 100 and 150. It is not listed for the other options; check the specifications for the option you choose.
Can I change the fuel bed colour?
The fire has seven fuel bed colour settings, set from the remote. These are listed for the SQ, Portrait, Aspire 100, 150 and 200 models.
Can I plug it in?
It has a 1.6 m cable, which exits on the right, viewed from the front. Check the instruction manual for the power connection before planning the supply, and use a socket that stays accessible.
How is it installed?
It is an inset fire for a media wall. Additional fitting is required, so follow the instruction manual when building the opening.
