The Acantha Ignis is a large electric fire built into a media wall or false chimney breast, with a 3D LED flame effect over a log fuel bed and 1kW to 2kW of heat with a thermostat and a remote with a 7-day timer. It comes in two widths, Ignis 1500 (1554 mm) and Ignis 2000 (2054 mm), both 376 mm deep. You can choose Fully inset (glass on the front), Panoramic (glass on the front and both sides) or Corner view (glass on the front and one side).

About this product
Will it suit your space?
As a rough guide, allow 1kW of heat for every 14 cubic metres of room volume in an average room, so the 2kW setting suits a room of around 28 cubic metres (about 3.4 x 3.4 m with a 2.4 m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by a heating engineer gives the right answer.
Every option is 376 mm deep. Check the sizes table below for the width and height of each option, and plan the media wall or chimney breast to the instruction manual supplied with the fire, as additional fitting is required. A Panoramic fire suits a media wall that stands proud of the wall so the side glass is visible.

Installation and safety
No chimney or flue is needed: the fire runs from the mains via a 1.5 m cable. Fit and use it as set out in the instruction manual, which gives the clearances and any recess or wall requirements. If the fire is hardwired or built into a wall, have the electrical work done by a qualified electrician.
