The Adam Malmo is a flat-to-wall electric fireplace suite with an oak veneer mantelpiece, an MDF hearth and a reversible MDF back panel, black on one side and cream on the other. It comes with the Adam Colorado inset electric fire or the Adam Oslo electric inset stove, both in black and both giving 1 to 2kW from a wall socket.

About this product

Will it suit your space?

As a rough guide, allow 1kW of heat for every 14 cubic metres of room volume in an average room, so 2kW suits a room of around 28 cubic metres (about 3.4 x 3.4 m with a 2.4 m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by a heating engineer gives the right answer.

Allow a clear, flat wall at least 1000 mm wide, with a socket nearby for the fire.

Installation and safety

No chimney or recess is needed. Assemble the suite (supplied in 2 boxes), stand it against a flat wall following the instruction manuals and plug the fire or stove into a wall socket. The plug comes from the left-hand side of the fire. Never plug it in behind the surround or the fire: the plug must stay accessible after installation so the fire can be disconnected in an emergency.

Questions

What is the difference between the two fires?

The Colorado is an inset fire with a coal effect fuel bed and manual controls. The Oslo is an inset stove with a log effect fuel bed and a remote control with a 7-day timer. Both give 1 to 2kW with a thermostat, and both have an LED flame effect that can run without heat.

Is the back panel black or cream?

Both. Whichever colour option you choose, the back panel is reversible, black on one side and cream on the other.

What is it made from?

The mantelpiece is an oak veneer, and the back panel and hearth are MDF.

Free delivery to England and Wales. Standard items usually arrive in 3 to 7 working days; large and heavy items in 3 to 10 working days, delivered to the kerbside and often on a pallet. The courier normally contacts you to book a day. Scotland and Northern Ireland charges are shown at checkout.

Returns

You have 30 days from delivery to change your mind, with no restocking fees. Returns after day 14 must be unused, uninstalled and in the original packaging. If we collect, it costs £90 for a single pallet item or £150 for two-person and multi-pallet deliveries; garden buildings, and collections from Scotland, Northern Ireland, the Highlands and islands, are priced before booking and never cost more than £250. Items made to your specification are excluded, and faulty or damaged goods are collected free.

1 year manufacturer's warranty. The manufacturer's warranty terms apply, which can include registering the product, professional installation and annual servicing. Your rights under the Consumer Rights Act are not affected.
