What you'll need
Everything to get this stove lit
A stove on its own isn't enough. Here's what comes in the box, what else you'll need, and what your installer brings.
In the box
- The stove and the manufacturer's installation and user manual
You'll also need
- A carbon monoxide alarm. Required by law in the room with the stove.
- Stove pipe to connect it to the flue. Your installer will tell you the length.
- A hearth for it to stand on, if you don't already have one.
- A chimney liner or twin-wall flue. Your installer supplies this.
Added. It goes in your basket with the stove when you press Add to basket.
Your installer brings
A stainless steel liner sized to the stove and a register plate to seal the chimney, usually after the chimney has been swept and checked.
A twin-wall insulated flue, taken up through the ceiling and roof or up an outside wall.
Fitting, testing and a certificate showing it meets Building Regulations. Keep it for your home insurer and for when you sell.
Ask for one quote that covers the survey, flue, fitting and certificate. Using someone who isn't HETAS registered? Your local building control must approve the work before you use the stove.

About this product
Will it suit your space?
As a rule of thumb, an average room needs roughly 1kW for every 14 cubic metres, so its 7kW suits about 98 cubic metres (around 41 square metres with a 2.4m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by your installer gives the right answer.
Every Harmony is 598mm wide and 437mm deep and weighs 128kg; the PR stands lower than the other versions, so check the sizes table below for the height and flue position of each. It needs 420mm clearance to combustibles at the sides and 180mm at the rear.

It must be installed by a HETAS-registered installer or signed off by Building Control, and a carbon monoxide alarm is required in the room. Follow the clearances and hearth details in the Opus installation manual.
Questions
Can it burn coal or smokeless fuel?
No. Opus and Firepower list the Harmony as a wood burning stove, and the manual rates it on wood only.
Can I use it in a smoke control area?
No. The Harmony is listed as not DEFRA exempt, and there is no SE version on the current Firepower price list.
What do the letters mean?
In Opus's naming, D stands for the bottom door and G for a glass door. The LS has an open log store instead of a bottom door, and the PR sits on a rotating pedestal.
What size logs does it take?
Logs up to 330mm long. It burns wood only.
What flue does it need?
A 150mm flue from the top or rear. It also has a 100mm connection for an external air supply.
Can the stove turn to face the room?
Yes, the PR version. It sits on a pedestal and can be turned by up to 90 degrees, but only when the stove is cold and only where the clearances in the manual are kept, including at least 1350mm in front of the glass.
