Will it suit your space?
Allow a clear, flat wall at least 1000 mm wide, with a socket nearby if you are using an electric fire; the socket must stay within reach once the fire is fitted. As a rough guide, allow 1kW of heat for every 14 cubic metres of room volume in an average room, so the Blenheim fire's 2kW setting suits a room of around 28 cubic metres (about 3.4 x 3.4 m with a 2.4 m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by a heating engineer gives the right answer. The surround is compatible with electric and bioethanol fires only, so it is not for a gas fire. Check the specifications below for full details of each option.

Installation and safety
No chimney or recess is needed. Assemble the surround and fit it flat against the wall, following the instruction manual, then fit the fire to its own instructions. The Blenheim fire in the suite plugs into a standard socket.
With an electric fire, the plug must stay accessible after installation so the fire can be isolated in an emergency, so never plug it in anywhere behind the surround or the fire. If you buy the surround only and use a bioethanol fire, follow its own minimum room size and ventilation guidance. Do not use a gas fire with this surround.

Is a fire included?
Only with the suite, which includes the Adam Blenheim inset electric fire in brass or chrome effect. The surround only option is the surround, back panel and hearth, so add an inset electric or bioethanol fire separately.
What fire can I use with the surround only?
Electric and bioethanol fires only, not gas. The fire opening is 420 mm wide, 563 mm high and 125 mm deep, so check your fire against those sizes.
Does it need a chimney or recess?
No. It fits flat against the wall, so no chimney or recess is needed. The Blenheim electric fire in the suite plugs into a standard socket.
How much heat does the suite give?
The Adam Blenheim fire gives 1kW or 2kW with a thermostat and manual controls.
Does it need assembling?
Yes. The surround needs assembling.
