About this product

Will it suit your space?

Allow a clear, flat wall at least 1000 mm wide. The body of the fireplace is 955 mm wide, and the overall width is 1000 mm.

The Chilton is compatible with electric and bioethanol fires only, so it is not for a gas fire. Choose an inset fire that fits the opening, which is 420 mm wide, 563 mm high and 125 mm deep. If you choose an electric fire, you also need a socket nearby that stays within reach once the fire is fitted.

Installation and safety

No recess is needed. Assemble the surround and fit it flat against the wall, following the instruction manual, then fit your chosen fire to its own instructions. With an electric fire, the plug must stay accessible after installation so the fire can be isolated in an emergency, so never plug it in anywhere behind the surround or the fire. With a bioethanol fire, follow its own minimum room size and ventilation guidance. Do not use a gas fire with this surround.

Questions

Is a fire included?

No. This is the surround, back panel and hearth only. Add an inset electric or bioethanol fire separately.

What fire can I use with it?

Electric and bioethanol fires only, not gas. The fire opening is 420 mm wide, 563 mm high and 125 mm deep, so check your fire against those sizes.

Does it need a recess?

No. It fits flat to the wall, so no recess is needed.

Does it need assembling?

Yes. It arrives in one box and needs assembling.
