About this product
Will it suit your space?
As a rough guide, allow 1kW of heat for every 14 cubic metres of room volume in an average room, so 3.1kW suits a room of around 43 cubic metres (about 4.3 x 4.3 m with a 2.4 m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by your installer gives the right answer.
It needs a fireplace opening 350 to 450 mm wide and 540 to 575 mm high. The fascia measures 485 mm by 590 mm.

Installation and safety
A gas fire must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer, who will check the chimney or flue, the opening and the ventilation before fitting. The 3010 and 3015 run on natural gas only. Building Regulations call for a carbon monoxide alarm in the same room when a new gas fire is fitted in a home, and Ekofires says a fireguard to BS 8423 must be used where there are children, pets or elderly or infirm people.
Questions
Can I add a remote control?
On the 3010, yes: Ekofires offers an optional mains-free remote. You light the pilot by hand and the remote adjusts the flame height. The 3015 has FingerSlide control on the fire instead.
Does it need a chimney or flue?
Yes. It suits a conventional chimney, a pre-cast flue or a pre-fabricated flue of at least 5 inches.
How much heat does it give?
Up to 3.1kW (gross) on full, turning down to 1.8kW, at a stated 50% efficiency.
Can it run on LPG?
No. Ekofires lists the 3010 and 3015 for natural gas only.
