Ekofires 3020 Slimline Inset Gas Fire

Will it suit your space?

As a rough guide, allow 1kW of heat for every 14 cubic metres of room volume in an average room, so 4.1kW suits a room of around 57 cubic metres (about 4.9 x 4.9 m with a 2.4 m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by your installer gives the right answer.

The fireplace opening needs to be 380 to 440 mm wide and 540 to 575 mm high. The fascia covers 480 mm by 590 mm.

Installation and safety

A gas fire must be installed by a Gas Safe registered engineer, who will check the chimney or flue, the opening and the ventilation before fitting. The 3020 runs on natural gas only. Building Regulations call for a carbon monoxide alarm in the same room when a new gas fire is fitted in a home, and Ekofires says a fireguard to BS 8423 must be used where there are children, pets or elderly or infirm people.
