Woodfire
This is a boiler stove
Most of its heat goes into your radiators and hot water, and about 2.6kW warms the room it stands in. It connects to your central heating, so you need a heating engineer as well as a stove installer.

Your selection
The Woodfire CX8 is a contemporary, freestanding, wood-only boiler stove rated at 8kW, sending most of its heat to water for radiators and hot water and the rest into the room, at 76% efficiency. It suits well insulated or airtight homes where most heat is wanted in the radiators and hot water. Choose the CX8 or CXC8 body style; both share the same working parts.
Why choose the Woodfire CX8
What you'll need
A stove on its own isn't enough. Here's what comes in the box, what else you'll need, and what your installer brings.
Added. It goes in your basket with the stove when you press Add to basket.
A stainless steel liner sized to the stove and a register plate to seal the chimney, usually after the chimney has been swept and checked.
A twin-wall insulated flue, taken up through the ceiling and roof or up an outside wall.
Fitting, testing and a certificate showing it meets Building Regulations. Keep it for your home insurer and for when you sell.
A boiler stove also needs a heating engineer to connect it to your radiators and hot water. The manual lists these parts too:
Ask for one quote that covers the survey, flue, fitting and certificate. Using someone who isn't HETAS registered? Your local building control must approve the work before you use the stove.

About this product
Only about 2.6kW to 2.7kW reaches the room directly, depending on body style. As a rule of thumb, an average room needs roughly 1kW for every 14 cubic metres, so that suits about 36 to 38 cubic metres (around 15 to 16 square metres with a 2.4m ceiling). Older, draughty or high-ceilinged rooms need more, and a heat-loss check by your installer gives the right answer.
Both body styles are 520mm wide and 440mm deep, weigh 130kg and take logs up to 330mm long; check the sizes table below for the height. Woodfire sets a maximum recommended flue diameter of 160mm, and the stove is not suitable for a shared chimney.

It must be installed by a HETAS-registered installer or signed off by Building Control, and a carbon monoxide alarm is required in the room.
The boiler circuit should be designed and connected by a competent heating engineer. The stove is not suitable for a shared chimney.
From an 8kW nominal output, the CX8 gives about 2.6kW to the room and 5.4kW to water, and the CXC8 about 2.7kW to the room and 5.3kW to water.
Yes. It needs a 150mm flue suitable for solid fuel, and Woodfire requires a load unit or load valve with the pump controlled by a flue thermostat or controller. Without a load unit the warranty drops from three years to one.
